Juneteenth! The day we celebrate the emancipation of all enslaved African Americans.

When thinking through this project, I knew I wanted to create from two viewpoints. One being colorful and joyful as Juneteenth is a time to celebrate; and another being more reserved and educational as it is also a time to reflect. There was one constant I wanted to carry out on each side, though. Regardless of how one celebrated, the messaging had to be dope and full of energy. It had to be something someone would be proud to wear as they celebrate this important date in Black American and American History.

In addition to designing the shirts, I had a lot of fun creating social media content, packaging stickers and a dedicated Juneteenth playlist for whoever bought a shirt. (Yes, the playlist is 🔥 and Cookout Approved®.
